Plain terms for a free data site. Using ChainCensus means accepting these.

The data is free to use — with attribution

Every figure, chart and dataset on this site may be quoted, screenshotted, embedded and pulled through the API at no cost, including commercially. The one condition is a visible credit to ChainCensus linking to the page the data came from. Formats and examples are on the press page.

What isn't covered: passing the data off as your own, mirroring a dataset wholesale to recreate this site elsewhere, or implying we endorse you or your product.

The numbers come with no warranty

We take accuracy seriously — every dataset documents its method, sources and known limits, and estimates are marked as estimates. But the data is provided as is: it is collected from public endpoints that can go down, change, or be wrong, and mistakes are possible at our end too.

Do not use ChainCensus as the sole basis for a decision that matters. Verify anything important against the primary source we link. To the extent the law allows, we accept no liability for losses arising from use of this site.

Found an error? [email protected] — corrections get made and dated.

Nothing here is financial advice

ChainCensus is a data and education resource. Nobody here is a licensed financial adviser, nothing on the site is a recommendation to buy, sell or hold anything, and crypto assets are volatile enough that you can lose everything you put in. Your decisions are yours.

Rankings are scored on documented, checkable criteria — licences, audits, published specs, public incident history — and each ranking says exactly what its criteria were. We do not hands-on test the products we rank and never claim to.

Some pages may carry affiliate links, which are disclosed on the page itself. Commission never affects a score or a placement, no vendor sees a draft, and no placement is for sale. Details: affiliate disclosure.

Content and code

Words and charts on this site are ours; the underlying facts and figures are not ownable and we make no claim to them. Quote what you need with a link. The ChainCensus name and mark may be used to refer to us in coverage, not to brand your own thing.

Availability

This is a small operation running on one server. There's no uptime promise, and the site, the API and any dataset can change or disappear. Breaking API changes get flagged in the API docs first.

Changes

Terms change with the date at the top of this page. Continuing to use the site after that means the new version applies.
